  Known more for its charming New England beaches and small town atmosphere, Zoos, Parks and Historic Sites in America’s smallest state are plentiful.  Rhode Island has something to offer everyone when it comes to sites.  Whether your returning to the “Gilded Age” with a visit to the Newport Mansions, or a trip to our many museums, rest assured, there is plenty to entertain the young and the young at heart.  Edaville Railroad on Cape Cod and Six Flags New England, are both thrilling and entertaining for the whole family.  If short on time, or wish to stay local, Rhode Island still has plenty to offer nearby.  Adventureland in Narragansett offers family fun in the form of go-karts, batting cages and bumper boats.  One of the oldest zoos in the country, Roger Williams Park Zoo is located in Providence, RI amid a beautiful, 40-acre park setting. Named as a Best of Rhode Island 2011 attraction by Yankee magazine, The Butterfly Zoo cultivates a tapestry of colorful flying creatures.
